Let us provide you with high quality

active day time care at our centres!

Book A Look around and Taster Day

About us

The Centre originated as a family run daytime service for adults with physical and/or learning disabilities which has grown with a fantastic team of people.

Our service has been open since June 1995 supporting individuals, their families and carers with active and respite support, creating a more productive and enjoyable day for individuals.

Based in both Bury St Edmunds and Haverhill, we support individuals who live in and around the surrounding areas.

There is no age limit for members and our service is available Monday to Friday with options from a full day to half a day as many days as required.

what we include

The staff at The Centre embrace each individual with a 'person-centred approach' to provide activities that suit each individuals personal needs and preferences whilst promoting creativity and independence in a fun, relaxed and social atmosphere.

At The Centre we provide opportunities to try:

  • Woodworking (pyrography, wood turning etc)
  • Computer room usage
  • Arts and craft skills (glass painting, fabric stencilling, painting etc)
  • Horticulture (vegetable growing, making up hanging baskets and planters etc)
  • Games and activities (board games, colouring books, puzzles, wordsearches etc)

An aspect of the job I love is the opportunity to really get to know the individuals in our care and understand the things that they enjoy and what they don't. My favourite thing about working here is watching somebody coming out of their shell and grow in confidence. It's great to see someone go home with a completed project they are really proud of.

Hi, I'm Jazz.

I have been with The Centre since 2020, starting as an apprentice to earn my Adult Care Worker level 2 qualification.

What I enjoy the most about working at The Centre is the social aspect, it is so rewarding seeing the smiles, hearing the laughter and having great conversations with the individuals that attend our service.

The social aspect is one of the most rewarding parts for me; it's a fun and fulfilling environment where no two days are the same.

I believe I have developed a strong passion for supporting and engaging the individuals in our care as well as the staff. I enjoy working in the workshop and craft room where I assist individuals in creating small bespoke crafts using a Dremel.

I enjoy being part of a team, fostering a warm and social environment where individuals feel valued and included.
